Description
~Why E2E?~
A host of complex social, financial and political barriers impede potential development projects daily and even contribute to extreme poverty and environmental degradation. However, the problem isn’t a lack of financial resources or will to help lift communities out of poverty and improve environmental conditions. What we as a global community are facing is largely a series of inefficiencies that impede real sustainable development.
~Information gap: Getting E to E is just tough.~
One of the greatest problems facing international cooperation is access to information. The international data revolution is growing rapidly, yet large information gaps still inhibit developing communities from conveying their true needs to a global community of collaborators that are willing to provide support.
The E2E platform offers a place for Emerging Customers to express their particular social or environmental obstacles–and solutions to those obstacles– through our Case Studies. The Case Studies provide a clear description of the Emerging Customer, what issue they are trying to solve, how they will work to solve the issue and what the expected impact is. Providing this information up front through Case Studies reduces the investment risk for Established Customers, and also several other problems that inhibit development assistance for our Emerging customers– such as inefficiencies in current funding procedures for international social and environmental work.
~Inefficiencies in financing for development, social and environmental projects make things difficult.~
Financing for development is complicated. Often, development financing procedures are so complex that they produce more barriers to sustainability than positive impacts. For example, NGOs, academic institutions and corporations alike struggle with aligning funding and donor expectations with actual needs and budgets. Furthermore, the scale of investments in development are often misaligned with actual needs, resulting in a significant loss in real, lasting social impacts or improvements in environmental quality. These inefficiencies waste time, money, resources and create distrust between Emerging communities and the development work (humanitarian and environmental) community that intends to support them.
To solve this problem, E2E performs high quality diagnostics with Emerging Customers to communicate actual needs, practical solutions and a clear explanation of how we will measure the impacts of our Established Customers’ investments in our Emerging Customers’ needs. Through our Rapid Assessment Matrix (RAM)– the basic project summary matrix that presents each case study, E2E provides Established Customers with quick, necessary information they need to search through our database. If a RAM catches a Customer’s eye, they can easily continue reading that Emerging Customer’s Case Study, which allows them to make an informed investment decision. The Case Studies provide real, honest information through efficient and innovative project design and data collection with our Emerging Customers. This way, E2E can assure realistic expectations for both Emerging and Established Customers, creating a genuine foundation for collaboration– and success.
~The E2E Methodology: how we escape efficiencies in project ideation, design and implementation– and major disappointments.~
Companies’ supply chains can often put communities and the environment at risk. In an effort to compensate potential risks and accidents, local communities are often promised development and support through large-scale investment projects (like mega agricultural operations, the extractive industry, etc.), or national social or environmental programs. These developments may often fulfill some needs in the community, but may also generate negative externalities. In a local context, they may impede other viable, simpler solutions that could increase the communities well-being, quality of life and protect the local environment.
Likewise, NGOs are often subject to donor requirements– which may not align with a simpler process or set of actions that should be carried out to foment actual changes. Companies face similar restrictions that make social and environmental investments confusing. As a result, few improvements are accomplished, leaving Established Customers with a low Social and Environmental Return on Investment, and Emerging customers with few resources to make positive changes in their environment.
An even simpler–and just as common– explanation for inefficiencies in generating positive impacts is that often, programs and projects are created on poor research, project design and intentions. E2E’s model incentivizes Emerging Customers to communicate accurate information and take responsibility for the solution they are searching for in a partnership with an Established Customer.
~ The E2E Solution~
We believe that the aforementioned problems can be solved through E2E’s work. By setting up projects in advance with communities, we create as sense of local responsibility and facilitate trust between our customers. Furthermore– we are committed to excellent data collection and impact reporting, which makes our work even better and allows Established customers to report their positive impacts to their customers.
We are working to build an unstoppable, international organization that achieves the maximum social and environmental impact–and can prove it.

We generate positive social and environmental impacts by working with communities to develop diagnostics that analyze their social and environmental development issues and propose solutions. Then, we help them create Case Studies to tell their story to businesses, NGOs, government entities, foundations or even individuals that want to invest in their projects through our web page. By making this information available, we help companies and organizations –our Established customers– bolster their commitment to sustainability, social and environmental impact by connecting them to Emerging communities that need their support.
The Case Studies are the way we present our Emerging Customers to our Established customers, creating space for collaboration and mutual benefits– hence the name, E2E.
E2E’s mission is to generate positive impacts– and prove it with accurate data management and impact measurement services that provide value to our Emerging and Established Customers. Impact Measurement means using data to make the best decisions for Emerging Customers and providing clear data for Established customers to measure their own social and environmental impact, thereby supporting their commitment to sustainability and increasing their reputation and competitive edge.
Timeline
E2E stands for Emerging to Established. The name represents the connections that we facilitate globally from emerging, developing communities to established investors. E2E is designed to solve inefficiences in international development projects and financing by designing a better, more efficient way to solve social and environmental problems.
We network with local communities in Medellin and other areas of Colombia to develop community-driven project diagnostics that identify social and environmental issues. Then, we project the positive impact the project will have with innovative impact measurement techniques. Finally, we create a case study that tells the community’s story and upload the case study onto our website where companies, government entities, foundations, other NGOS and even individuals can search projects and collaborate with Emerging communities by funding their projects.
We are already working on several projects around Medellin and Colombia. However, we are always looking to help establish new relationships between Emerging and Established Customers. Excellent research, empowering communities through local project management and impact measurement are fundamental to E2E’s problem-solving methods– and we are eager to use those methods to reduce poverty and protect the environment.
